Lands Department
The mission of the Land Department is to preserve and protect the cultural and traditional uses of the Pueblo’s land. With a total of 14 employees, the Lands department manages four programs, which are Housing, Community development, Realty and Bison. The responsibilities of the Land Department have increased significantly due in part to its proximity to the City of Albuquerque and mostly in large part to the complexities of running a tribal government that has grown over the years. Today, we work with a number of private, local, state, and federal government offices. This department is the only office within the tribal office that brings in revenue on a regular basis in the form of business leases and house rentals.
