The Business Office is responsible for maintaining high confidentially, the application of all HIPAA guidelines, Third Party Collections, providing benefit options to all patients, referrals to special offices and maintaining all providers/clinic schedules.

Business Office Manager/ Health Information Management (HIM) – Gwendolyn Waseta

      • Manages a staff of five to provide and maintain high confidentially, and oversees all third party collections and Pharmacy POS billing. Verifies all release of medical records before they are released and manages all Health Center staff access to our EHR system. Scanning and maintaining records into Vista Imaging (Medical Records software). Credential all providers and maintain all provider current licenses along with credentialing with insurance companies.

Certified Coder/Biller – Brittney Quintana

      • Responsible for coding and billing all clinics within 24 hours from the time of services. Working with clearinghouses and insurance to ensure all denied claims are processed correctly and paid timely.

Benefits Coordinator: Mary Marquez

      • Responsible for providing benefits to ALL patients, whether it is enrolling in Medicaid, Medicare, Disability, or in the Marketplace. Will help patients with Social Security questions, help order new Social Security Cards, and help with retirement paperwork. 

PRC Case Manager – Vacant

      • Schedules all outside special referrals for services that the Pueblo of Sandia Health Center does not provide.
      • Tracks and logs all payments made to special offices for eligible patients that qualify for Purchase Referred Care (PRC)

Admin Coordinator/Patient Registration: Sandra Apodaca and Miquela Romero

      • Maintains ALL provider schedules for all clinics within the Health Center, making follow-up reminder phone calls, scanning health center records, and check in and out patients.
